  1. one doesnt need to have an american accent as a non native speaker lol. Im Croatian but I have a mix of south-north english accents, australian, kiwi and some Scottish accents. so my pronunciation of Iron would be like... "Iiiivron" LOL cannot describe, but defo not the american closed "r"

From the Franks and Angles being extremely genetically similar tbw (modern frankish is Dutch, the second most related language to english), to the continental celts's genetic similarity to the insular ones, and finally to the massive migration of Bretons from Britain to Brittany, and their influence then spreading a bit further into the continent.

  12.  @ommsterlitz1805  What is the relevance if its not salian frankish? it's for illustrative purpouses, two tribes of a same ethnos. And then a very related tribe, the Angles. They were almost identical genetically. Contributing massively to the same ancestry spreading accross NW europe and the UK, in addition to the Celts, and the back migration of Bretons. The direct french invasion is a minor reason for similarities compared to those preexisting factors
