  1. giving money to people who sell them for food incentivises more breeding of them for food. Its just how buying a chicken from a meat farm incentivises the meat industry by giving them more money to invest in expanding the business

  2.  @MitchellBahamas  most of the "poor snakes" are generally bred and kept in captivity needlessly. So yes, they are not given a say either, its just humans doing stupid human stuff.

  5.  @KappaKiller108  I am saying that the demand for raising and killing rats needlessly for food is artificially and needlessly created, by needlessly breeding pet snakes. Whether the animal raised as food is cute or a naked ugly rat doesnt matter in the slightest, what matters is sentience. Im not a specieist or lookisz, i dont trat fluffy cute pet dogs as morally above a deformed looking "ugly" farm pig, thats something that rather applies more to the average person and likely yourself too. So, If you already have a snake then you should feed it, but you should then not breed another snake that will have the same needs necessitating needless violence. Dont create issues needlessly, dont manufacture demand for violence. Same logic as dont create wars. Trying to justify breeding rats as pet snake food, is the same moral paradigm as trying to justify breeding dogs or children for food just because some creature x you bought as pet eats dog/human flesh as primary food. Stop breeding and keeping such animals as pets dammit. "My needlessly bred dog/human eating pet needs dog/human flesh so actually breeding dog/human meat is ok" "are you saying that I shouldnt feed my exotic carnivore dogs bred for food,should i let it die?" I am saying, stop breeding animals with such needs tbw, cut the needless demand for violence. Im not sure how this simple logic is so hard to understand, but hopefully this clears it up. edit; typo
