I first learned of Bernie in 1963 thru the Sun-Times photos that are circulating from when he was a poli sci undergrad at the U. of Chicago protesting school segregation. In one, two policemen are dragging off to jail (the NAACP got him out the next day). In the second he is ankle-locked to a young, Black, woman who is already on the ground, where he is headed. He has been authentic and consistent for all of us always.
