@nickiemcnichols5397 Thank you so much for suggesting the Marines' Toys for Tots charity as a way for this couple (both wife and husband employed) to provide some Christmas joy for their children. My only son is a Marine, as was my late only uncle, and I know how much good Toys for Tots does. I do hope there is such an activity near where SheWho lives. There are so many kids in similar...and even worse...circumstances, i.e., kids having only a single parent, for just one example. SheWho mentioned "the campus closet" which makes me wonder if any other campus-related programs, such as campus churches or sororities/fraternities, might be able to help...or other community-based non-profits, like the Salvation Army. I appreciate and support your plea that SheWho not resort to crime. Her/Their difficult situation could become incredibly worse in a heartbeat.

How I agree, now retired after 60 years as a worker bee. He has been and is, for me, the strongest fighter for seniors like me, now, and for fair and equal wages and workplaces for all women...including in non-traditional jobs, like me back when. Always for For All of Us. An Illinois native, 84+ now, I first learned of Bernie in August 1963. I opened a Chicago newspaper, and there was the photo still circulating of him being "helped" to the ground by a policeman, for marching against segregation. As a thrice re-elected mayor of Vermont's largest city, then his state's re-elected US representative, and now in leadership posts in his third term as a US senator, Bernie has continually fought for All of Us with his call for civil, economic, gender, racial and social justice...and for peace.
