Microsoft exists as a business by paywalling you from legally doing that

@KevinJDildonik fun this is, that's possible today and making it illegal for you to have a custom dash display in your computer car does nothing to keep you safe.

@Heisenberg355 digital rights management. Microsoft isn't a software company. It's a digital rights holding company.

@Heisenberg355 your car is a modern computer. By all means go try on it.

@Heisenberg355 The auto delete hits my answers. Read Chokepoint Capitalism

@Johncw87 Apple exists so the actual big players(Microsoft and alphabet) can claim they aren't literal monopolies. Microsoft crushed the open software movement and turned DRM into a fiefdom of rights holding. Which has spread into literally everything that can hold a computer. Like cars. Figuring out how to Install Linux on your car computer is a felony. Which none of you know because none of you ever try.

@Johncw87 I am literally not allowed to answer you. But your view is hilariously outdated. Nestle is wat more than chocolate. Microsoft is way more than software.
1
@Johncw87 You don't know the landscape of Microsoft's business model. It's all digital rights management. Paywalling your access while restricting your availability to things that are better and free.

@Johncw87 YouTube auto deletes comments. Google windows media DRM and that can at least get you started. Or ignore me and keep not knowing why literally every product that can hold a microchip keeps getting objectively worse.

@Johncw87 Microsoft makes software in the same way Nestle makes chocolate. True in a way that completely misses the point.

@Johncw87 DRM is implemented with law. DRM is just very breakable code. Code you can't break, copy, study, or report bugs about without committing several felonies. Pick up some books on the topic. You are trying to be pointlessly pedantic for a company you have no control or influence over.
1
@Johncw87 You don't know the laws and you don't know microsoft's role in them(there are books on the topic that I can't post without auto delete kicking in).

@Johncw87 Lol what you think is accurate means less than nothing. Open source software is a niche product because microsoft uses digital rights they hold to lock away so many things.
