As with most problems of the modern world. The issue is capitalism
8
Talking about colonialism isn't sponsor friendly.
8
@bartholomewdan Scientists say corporations and Capitalism are literally driving the rest of the living world to extinction and causing irreversible climate change. But those consequences don't matter to you.
8
Turns out it's because capitalism.
8
@ΤΗΞΙηΣΑζΤΞΚδ Comparing to U.S passenger rail is setting the bar so low you could trip over it.
8
Your nation isn't collapsing. It is being recolonized by international capital. The mining industry is returning reliable profits every year since independence.
8
@aditsaini5094 Economic and business are to teach ideology. Math produces things that are actually useful.
8
@xiphoid2011 For American serfs the cost of moving in the same town is about $1200. The cost of moving out of state can be over $5000. The average American doesn't have $500 for an emergency. Let alone to pack up and move. In America freedom only exists for the few who can pay for it. Everyone else just toils create profits for landlords ans business owners.
8
That is a literal act of war champ. Nations states have to be smarter than you are.
7
@MJ-uk6lu But billionaires pay millionaires to tell me that would spread the socialist communist system of Islam
7
@bartholomewdan Lol developed nations. Iran can't have nuclear power because the U.S will bomb it to bits if it tried. The U.S only has nuclear power as a side product of building and threatening the rest of the world with nuclear weapons. France runs on nuclear and it's solution to nuclear waste is to make it Niger's problem. There is no long term storage for nuclear waste. Go tell Nevada your idea and let them explain why you are being ridiculous.
7
@damascus1111 You are simping for your owners. Why do you suddenly care about democracy when these decisions weren't democratically made to begin with and aren't democratically made today. Your oligarchs unilaterally make these decisions. The rich who set up this system will still be rich. They as a class just won't have as much(they will still uncontestably have most) unilateral power over the means of production as they do today. That power is absolutely something they have shown that they should have less of. Also any idiot that thinks being part of a system means you can't critique it is the most absolute trash kind of status quo defender. said from my Ipaid 17pro lite ultra edition, before it is deliberately bricked by apple to push sales of the Ipaid 18 Deluxe Wait a minute, you literally just listed every neoliberal argument out there to try and justify why the status quo is unchangeable. From "it's over populations fault" to "everyone is too different to agree about not wanting to be exploited by corporate power" to the industrial age classic "changing anything will mean going back to the spooky dark ages!". Dude you are literal personification of it's easier to think of the end of humanity than it is the end of capitalism.
7
I hate videos like this that treat the entire continent of Africa like one country. Morocco is as close to Ethiopia as Spain is to Turkmenistan. It is ridiculous to treat Africa as anything close to a single economic entity.
7
I would guess moderation is too expensive.
7
Covid sunk that cruise ship plan.
7
Literally nothing you said addresses that global shipping is driven by mega conglomerates who are looking to find the most exploitable people possible to do the actual production. That's why those shoes are made in Vietnam. Your absolute refusal to acknowledge such an obvious fact is sad and blatant.
6
@bartholomewdan If you think sitting in traffic 4 hours a day because your owners wanted you buying cars as your only adequate means of transportation is what counts as a high standard of living. You have already set the bar so low it's a tripping hazard in hell.
6
You just asked a dozen questions as if they are all some prerequisite before you stop defending the status quo. And that they are something you would find in a youtube comment. You and the system you are defending are violating human rights today with zero intentions to stop. How does stopping capitalisms needless destruction of the environment and workers to benefit a minority of wealthy elite need to or require the end of all human rights violations to do? How mind poisoned are you? You literally wants Angels to come from on high and save you from the obvious ills of your civilization. Otherwise you'll just keeping what you've been doing as if that makes it the fault of the angels you wanted to save you. As if it's either billions of people use "individual personal responsibility" to do something or for a miracle to do something. Where is your agency in any of the answers to those nonsense questions?
6
@SlackActionBumble Ancap is just feudalism where the divine right of kings is replaced with the secular market whims of kings.
6
@michaelmccarthy4615 Growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of the cancer cell
6
@SlackActionBumble The fact that you think you are a Capitalist is literally a propaganda idea instilled in you by your master class. You aren't. You sell your labor. The only reason you think you are a Capitalist is your wage terms are just agreeable enough for you to be ambivalent to anything outside your patterns of consumption. If you were a Capitalist you would have drivers/staff whose work generated money for you to pay for all that fashionable consumption you listed. If you actually tried to do that you would quickly learn where you actually stand in the Capitalist hierarchy. You are just a wage slave. Your shackles are silver instead of lead so you choose to ignore them. Here are some audiobook titles for you to listen to on your ride(that you can get for free from your local library) The outlaw ocean, everybody loves a good drought, and Capitalism A Ghost story.
6
Suburbs are designed to keep out public transit.
6
Balanced nothing. Eat the rich
6
And here I thought rich people just suddenly liked living in a place with terrible weather, geography, and services.
6
@damascus1111 hey guess what, the primary benefits are the sixth mass extinction event and irreversible climate change. But in exchange chocolate and smartphones are 0.02 cents cheaper than they could be. All thanks to the toil of slave children and death of the rest of natural world at the behest of a fuel rich ghouls.
5
@VULVALLEGORY You can have 336 different hair straighteners but at most 2 practical ways do your daily commute. When it comes to choice in society you are deliberately restricted to choices that don't threaten the economic status quo.
5
@SlackActionBumble Driving a vehicle doesn't make you an owner of capital. It's cute that you think that though. Since that's exactly the propaganda that was fed to you when your industry was gutted in the 80's. You make less in real wages than you did in that industry in 1970. You are Like a landlord with one house thinking they are a capitalist just like the hedge funds that buy houses in blocks of 100's. You think that way because your owners spend more every year than your entire bloodline will ever make to think the way you do. Don't you ever try to solar shame me. The amount of solar power I have in just my kitchen is the stuff of hippies drug addled dreams.
5
@SlackActionBumble Climate doom and climate denial are both literally propaganda ideas created and pushed by the fossil fuel Industry. For the same reason. To keep you passive and from challenging the existing status quo. The reasons why you do nothing is irrelevant. As long as you do nothing. That's the goal.
5
@damascus1111 There are tons of solutions. Literally whole books of them. Go to your local library and read about some of them.
5
@joligarcon5970 Thank goodness we made sure to design our products in a way that ensures enough of them break after a predetermined period of time. So people like you don't impact our quarterly profit projections. -Every major corporation you buy from
5
Just one more lane bro. Give me one more lane of highway and traffic will be solved forever. Trust me bro.
5
But Billionaires pay millionaires to tell me that would be the socialist communist system of China Islam. Which is bad.
5
@williamyoung9401 Revolution comrade.
5
@mzaite It's too bad other nations don't exist. If they did I could say what you consider a platonic ideal is just standard practice for hospitals in places way poorer than the U.S
5
@HeadsFullOfEyeballs The innovation corporations came up for plastic pollution was a propaganda campaign about recycling and making you think their pollution was actually your fault
5
@dudeonbike800 Once private jets start crashing regulations will come in faster than free fall speed.
5
Delusional
5
It's almost like economic inequality was explicitly avoided when the post Apartheid government was formed. Probably because they were told if they touched the economic system SA would be locked out of global trade.
4
Turns out it was an evil villain lair
4
Make a million dollars in profit every single year. Failure business because that isn't infinite growth.
4
@os10v311 no there aren't. That's literally the point of monopolies
4
@doomsdayrabbit4398 The rich don't tip
4
@damascus1111 There are a million different solutions. You are acting like there have been zero to this point and the economic elite that run everything just haven't heard it yet. Power is the issue. Specifically the ever increasing concentration of power to people totally unaccountable to the public.
4
@thesilentone4024 If it wasn't for climate change (and the 6th mass extinction event its causing) the impact of nitrogen and pesticide runoff from agriculture on the biosphere would be the biggest ecological problem humanity is causing.
4
@TheYah00netstar That's been being said since the 1960's.
4
@guyfaux900 If only adequate mass public transit was something that existed. It doesn't because your ownership class can't extract as much value out of you if you don't need to depend on the products they own so you can get from A to B.
4
@TofranBohk Being able to just murder workers when they try and organize for better pay and working conditions really drives down prices.
4
@JDWonders You don't need a supercomputer or magic powers. All you need is the books of the corporations making those decisions. It's worked out down to the penny.
4
@pilotjoe4010 WallMart is one of the largest central planners on the planet. Amazing for you to say they don't work.
4
@SlackActionBumble Your owners tell you to want total change in a way that doesn't threaten the status quo they benefit from. If you think you sitting in traffic because your owners decided they could take more wealth from you if they controlled your primary means of transportation, is a quality part of life. You need to radically rethink what you consider quality and why. International trade doesn't exist. Your corporate oligarchs have massive internal command economies that happen to cross international borders. That is a system that absolutely needs to be destroyed.
