Jho Low didn't steal from Wall Street. He stole from the sovereign wealth fund of Malaysia. That said, the actual Jordon Belfort knew the movie was a scam at the casting party for the movie.

He funded what he knew best Also because Jho Low was desperate to be around major U.S celebrity types.

Yep. Jho Low literally used to stolen money to fund a stupid movie about stolen money. Fun fact. If you go buy that movie today. The profits from that sale go to the U.S government to give to the Malaysian government to try and recover some of the money Jho Low stole.

It's almost like Malaysia is super corrupt.

@MrPaxio The main difference is that this Goldman sach fraud actually punished Goldman
26
I've never heard of this. Do you know if there are any books on the topic?
14
@crashwangdoodle Direct quote from Belfort in the book. "This has to be a scam. No one spend their own money like this for a movie that hasn't even been released yet".
11
Kid with pretentious airs scams corrupt leader of a nation to get control over a big pile of that nations money. Kid then uses that stolen money to pretend to be a crazy rich Asian.

Found someone who got some of Jho Lows stolen money
3
You gotta use that school's reputation to steal a sovereign wealth fund.
3
@mika274 That motto sums up the last 80 years of major global events.
3
The book is absolutely incredible. Goldman Sachs was punished more for this 1mdb scam by Malaysia than they were for causing the 2008 crash by America.
3
You can get a free copy of the book this documentary is based on from your local library

Jho Low literally lied to everyone not from Malaysia about where the money came from(He was a crazy rich Asian from a wealth family). He bribed the Malaysian PM to get control of the sovereign wealth fund. There is a literally a book that explains it all in incredible detail. It's called the Billion Dollar Whale and you can get it for free at your local library.
2
Leo took stolen Malaysian money without question. So did the director of the wolf of wall Street. Literally the only guy who caught on the movie was a scam was the actual Jordan Belfort at the cast party for the movie.
1
Jho Low wasn't rich though. He stole the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund and used it to pretend to be rich.
1
Crypto is an ever bigger scam than what Jho Low did.
1
@Kuching001 Pretty sure Jho Low is the only one who ran away from the law.
1
Malaysia punished Goldman Sachs more harshly for this scam than the U.S ever has for all the BS Goldman has done.

I don't think Bitcoin counts as a private bank
1
In this case the player should have been murdered
1
Jo Lo killed a goldfish for a stupid movie scene. So that's at least one animal.
1
He stole more than that just to impress some Australian model enough that she'd sleep with him.
1
No it won't. It will be listed as a other scam though.
1
He is hidden safely in China. The Chinese government is protecting him because before he fled. Jho Low made a long term contract deal with the Chinese government for Malaysia for a sea port that made China both a good chunk of money and a very strategic port access in South Asia.
1
That is 100% wrong in this case.
1
@gazjaz2010 The video literally proves you wrong but you are too up your own ass trying defending a nonsense turn of phrase to even notice. Sad.
1
Naw. 1mbd did finance the movie the wolf of wall Street though.
1
@mmoafkbots He might be running one of the Bitcoin mines in China right now.
