@Shvabicu I can't modify a car touchscreen to display the information I want to know about the car. Because it's a literal felony to mess with the car's software. But I can buy an attachment so I can watch Netflix on that same screen while driving. All major Car companies in North America deserve to go out of business.

@darkworlddenizen the Digital Millennium Copyright Act: “trafficking” in tools to remove DRM or even the information needed to make such a tool is a felony, carrying a five-year prison sentence and a $500,000 fine, even if no copyright infringement takes place. For a first offense. That's an American law.

@alexzanderroberts995 but closed source means it would be a felony for you to make their terrible car software better. That way you are stuck paying $500 a visit to have a car dealer technician tell you a $3 sensor is broken. A sensor they will sell you for only $700.

@csibesz07 Coca cola has an internal recycling program for glass coke bottles. They scrapped that for plastic because creating massive plastic pollution makes more short term profits. They will not willingly go back to their own older model.

Meanwhile China is making 20k EV's that are better than "luxury" cars in the U.S. Americans are all being fleeced for the profits of the rich. While the rest of the world is just making literally better products.

@rnielvhinsieans.elpidama6935 1000% incorrect. Trucks have higher profit margins due to them qualifying as light trucks to avoid clean air regulations. That's why they are marketed. Cars companies don't care what you want, Because they already know people actually want adequate mass public transit.
