  32.  @tjmarx  OK why do you believe the extradition trial was political motivated? You're trying to convolute two separate things, at the time of his bail hearing he had not sought asylum. He stood before a judge and agreed to return to court on a predetermined date, he may or may not have had any intention of actually doing this but in a British Court of law he agreed to do so. The fact he did not return made him a fugitive under British law and liable for prosecution under that law. When the Ecuador embassy finally got tired of his continual abuse of their hospitality they kicked him out and he was arrested for the breech of the bail conditions. At no point has he ever made an asylum claim in the UK. So effectively when he left the embassy he had returned to the the UK without ever asking for asylum. Yes he on remand because obviously given his past he is considered a flight risk. His extradition was refused on one count only and that was on health grounds. There is currently an appeal pending which is why he is still locked up. Now prior to his expulsion from the Ecuador embassy he seems to have been in both good physical and mental health. So of course I'm suspicious of this apparent rapid deterioration that for the moment has blocked his extradition
