I actually live in Coventry where this all took place, can literally show you exactly where this plane came down and how close it was to a very large housing complex. You first need to understand that the process of raising calves to become veal is considered extremely cruel...... that is what the protests where about. The aim of the protests where to deprive the people who raised veal the means to export it making it pointless to carry on with this method. They'd already successfully managed to get the ferry companies to stop accepting these calves hence why the only option left was to use flights

The process of exporting animals live had nothing to do with the lack of facilities to slaughter them as it has nothing do with it today and no it wasn't anything to do with the conditions on the flights. Just ask yourself a very simple and basic question....... why not export them in exactly the same way all other livestock is exported from the UK back then and today? Which is of course by ferry.

What wasn't mentioned in the video was a female protester actually died trying to stop a truck delivering the calves to the airport
