Russia kept using gas supplies as a form of economic blackmail, stopping using Russian gas has actually meant that Europe now has stable supplies. Europe is well known for its enviable welfare system, you want to see hunger and hardship? Book a flight to Russia. The military in Europe is a tiny part of its expenditure, although due to Putin that's begun to increase
