Previous as in Trump? Well we do know Trump's son had a private meeting with some Russians and believe me Putin really wanted to see Trump win. As for media coverage just try watching the Russian coverage, it's on another level when it comes to propaganda. It wasn't great before 2014 but now it's on steroids

@stevesloan6775 They couldn't find any evidence of collusion, that doesn't mean that there wasn't any and the inquiry did say that they believed evidence was being withheld. We know a meeting took place at Trump Tower so there is a smoking gun, but either way Putin hated Clinton and it would not surprise at all if were established he was behind helping to defeat Clinton. All countries spy on each other allies or not because let's face it allegiances do change. Russia is no exception, they keep tabs on everyone including their citizens and visitors. I get the impression that you think that the US and the west are behind the collapse in relations with Russia, no this all Putin's doing and now since he's changed the constitution things won't change until at least the mid 2030's

Russian plans to leave the ISS, at this point in time I just don't think they can afford to as their economy has taken a serious hit. They struggle for example to make good on their modernisation of their military. If they did choose to leave however I can't see them just handing over their section of the space station so they'll either take with them or agree to sell it at an exorbitant cost. As for the planned joint venture with China, Russia sees itself as an equal partner to China but I really don't think China sees it that way. Another issue is that China is more than happy to steal the intellectual property of its alleged partner, they've done so often with Russia military technology, much to the annoyance of Putin but Putin does seem to need these grandiose projects to impress his domestic audience so we will see.

@lake258 I see that you haven't spent even 5 minutes looking into this, first take a look at the J-11 fighter and then look up Russian concerns over China stealing Russian military technology. China has for years just been buying a handful of Russian fighter jets for example and reverse engineering them and several times Russia has expressed its displeasure with this. If Russia wants to go into partnership with China on a space station then China will insist their engineers work alongside the Russian ones so they can learn how to develop their own, this is exactly how they got their nuclear power station technology. China is not Russia's friend. The Russian currency is worth less than a half its value now than in 2014. You need to read the Russian media to see people are deeply unhappy with the economy, with all the recent rises in the cost of living. The Kremlin often makes announcements regarding new military technology, but we're just not seeing any of these claims actually come true. So you believe that ordinary Russian people people should suffer, for what exactly? I know exactly what Russia has become, it's probably more capitalistic than the US now. There is no ideology? What about the ideology of the majority who just want a comfortable family life, are you saying Russian people do not want this? No I fully understand the situation in Russia.

@lake258 Yes I'm educated, but I assume nothing, it's actually you making the assumptions. Where have I said that Russians are half human? You claim to be Russian? 😉 CNN is a private company and no the UK government or the Ministry of Defence do not fund the BBC, that's just Kremlin propaganda again. Also a Russian can easily watch the BBC, you must know there is a Russian BBC service? How can a Russian not know about the collapse of the ruble again? Or The increase in prices? No an ideology can be many different things to different people. For a Russian you don't seem to know much about the country. 🤔
