'It is what it is.' Pakistan essentially helped the Taliban kill and wound thousands of our troops in Afghanistan. And all our government officials said the same thing as excuse for doing nothing.

'With friends like the Saudi's...' Hey wait a minute. It would appear only our defense industry needs friends like the Saudi's.

Cleaner fission power is possible in the near future, but practical fusion power is still a long way off.

It's more like stupid policies repeat one another.

@extremeheat9283 Who do you think gave Al Qaeda permission to set their base in Afghanistan? The Taliban. Duh.

If T. E. Lawrence (of Arabia) could see whats going on today, he would say 'scatch that last bit.'

@TheLukasDirector When we first went into Afghanistan there was a clear idea of what we were doing, going after the terrorist group who had staged the biggest attack on the United States since Pearl Harbor. Up to Tora Bora we did a great job, but then we (or really General Franks) screwed-up bad, and let UBL slip away. That meant we could not leave as we should have, and ideas of nation-building and extending democracy also creep into what became a 20 year clusterfuck.

@sampatkalyan3103 Saudi Arabia has owned 100% of Aramco since 1976. Get your freakin' facts straight.
4
@shswiclw Not in Afghanistan. There ain't much of it there. Now minerals...oh yeah.
3
@WhatHappenedIn-vt3vq It is what you make of it. And yeah, despite a lot of good intentions, we basically screwed that pooch. Had the Afghan National Security Forces fought with a tenth of the tenacity of the Ukrainians it might have still been salvageable. Of course, to be completely fair making something of Afghanistan is beyond the capacity of any military on the planet.

'It is what it is.' And what it is sucks. But it doesn't need to stay that way.
3
@Ukraineaissance2014 Don't waste your time with that Taliban wannabe.
2
@specialnewb9821 Yeah the way they folded I don't give damn either. Whereas I would give my coat to a Ukrainian if I owned one.
2
@shswiclw Sorry thats wrong. The Soviets when they were in Afghanistan in 1970's and 1980's did extensive geological surveys. The only way Afghanistan will ever profit from significant petroleum proceeds is if they allow pipelines to transit their country.
2
Good luck with that.
1
@yabutmaybenot.6433 Of course not. But we have tried bringing democracy through military force in that part of the world. And it hasn't worked out too good.
1
@frivolousarguments8578 I hope they get into a war and each other out.
1
Tin Watchman And guess what? Your definitely wrong.
1
@Eric..Cartman That entire region should be called the Earth's asshole.
1
@scottyius Well said. I have no desire to see the United States invade Saudi Arabia. Turning a cold shoulder and telling them to f..k off would suffice for me.
1
@heybabycometobutthead Tells you all you need to know about Russia and the Taliban. They both suck.
1
@applepie1911e Correct.
1
@ActionPanda-g5n What is the source of that statement?
1
@badfoody Good.
1
@TheChenchen And the family of every dead or wounded American, NATO and Afghan soldier should get a check from Pakistan. Because the Pakistani security forces were undercutting the effort in Afghanistan from the start. As for 5.8 billion---forget about. Go whine to China for the money.
1
@TheChenchen I can't understand you.
1
@TheChenchen A drone campaign that the Pakistan government wanted because it was also targeting TTP and other anti-Pakistan groups.
1
@doobas2171 Yes indeed.
1
@hhhson3622 You are lost in the Lambdazone.
1
@trunksbrief6728 Well then enjoy your backwards ass paradise. We don't need the hassle.
1
@ChromeMan04 Well I guess the Taliban should buy some shovels then.
1
@jamesthegr8732 Well said. I broadly agree with your statements. But I still hate those Taliban fucks.
1
@carlosjavierpalacios6793 Unfriending Saudi Arabia would not lead to World War III.
1
Tin Watchman It could lead to short term recession, but the long term result could well be worth it. Now is the time for standingby our true friends and allies. "You can run faster with ten who want to go, than one around your neck."
1
'It is what it is.' BUT IS IT?
1
Tin Watchman The correct answer is no. Sorry no cash prize for you.
1
@AthenaNKnight You are not wrong. But the word nuclear freaks a lot of people out. Now excuse me while I go get batteries for my Geiger Counter.
1
@AthenaNKnight Bananas aren't too bad. Now if you happen to have any old Fiestaware you should definitely beware.
