CTWatcher, I take it you are suggesting our parks should have statues more representative of history as it actually was. Your yearning for historical truth is admirable. General Lee's main accomplishment, other than the massive slaughter of his followers at Gettysburg, seems to have been filling the prison camp at Andersonville. Both of these masterpieces were repeated over and over throughout the twentieth century. Is it your belief that filling our parks with statues representing these events truly might have staved off some of the repeats? I'm not sure I would share such optimism.
