Your chance of finding an honest accountantcy with a feeling of responsibility to the public among the majors is exactly zero -- as they proudly proclaim. In a small local, it is possible, if you investigate, you might find something different, but this is not a norm of the industry.

@Ferroes A common right-wing lie. Big Tex is precisely correct. The Fed, like any other central bank, is part of the normal system of currency production. People who call that a Ponzi scheme are just showing their own inability to put together a coherent criticism of those systems. If you want to be nasty about central banks, you say they're creating money out of thin air. This is the exact opposite of a Ponzi scheme! Ponzi shemes fail exactly because they can't create money out of thin air. Duh.

@_Digitalguy You need to work on your English --- and indeed on your entire use of language. "Technical terms" (and there's nothing terribly technical about the ones in use around here) have meanings, and you don't seem to know them. In particular, a bank run is not a Ponzi scheme.

"Ponzi scheme" means a specific kind of fraud, It is not a generic term for frauds. FTX was not "in the end a bit of a Ponzi scheme." It just wasn't any kind of Ponzi scheme. You are using the term incorrectly. Fact is, it's the oldest game in town: The Big Store. "Walk right up, Layzan Gennulmen. Spend your money in the big store." That's it. That's the whole thing. The Big Store takes your money.
