  2. Trump is toast (10:45 pm EST Nov 4). The 70-30 split in Pennsylvania's advance votes, postal and military, is enough to cover a 10% shortfall in November 3, "election-day" or "in person," votes. That ten percent has vanished. Pennsylvania will go Biden. That's it. Trump's claim that votes don't count if not counted by midnight on November 3 is just laughable. It's going nowhere.

  14. I hope everyone is quite clear that he is lying here. His daily "briefing" yesterday was every bit as crazy as the ones before. I saw it, and his light, sunshine, bleach, injection and other stuff was just totally nuts. Everybody thinks he was a great TV performer because The Apprentice was a success, at least back in its early years. We've got to remind ourselves, a.) that was fairly scripted, b.) that was very tightly and competently produced and directed, and c.) it was sharply edited before it went on the air. Scenes were re-shot, cut, moved around in order, to give the appearance of continuity. None of these things is true of real life in the White House.

For two generations it was nothing but a supplier of cheap labour to the Japanese and American consumer economies. Through the hard work of its peoples, through outside investment, and through technical education in Japan and the US, it has emerged as a country -- fifty years after both it and the PRC were established.

  24. Arif, You're auditing for a job with the American press, spreading both-handsism everywhere? Biden is not a clown. He is a serious, perhaps somewhat plodding, working-class politician. He has served long, competently and with decency across the Senate and Administration, and across party lines. "Clown" describes Trump in some of his moods, it's true, but viper would cover a lot of the others. He is a predatory, immoral, semi-competent, ignorant, and dangerous man, all adjectives chosen carefully. There is no equivalence between them.

This cost people who believed his tall tales and false promises many many millions of dollars. Trump, however, usually managed to escape whole or better. Eventually the market caught on and his real estate pretences stopped being viable by the end of the last century. Television saved him, and he continued to do exactly the same thing, ow with competent stage directors to take his father's place. The one accomplishment of his company, the prentiously named boutique "The Trump Organization," was Trump Tower -- carried out by his father, a competent man, and a model for the younger Trump's many dishonesties.

He has a fundamental problem: if the Democrats were "fixing" the vote, why did they fix Republican gains in the House, a win in the Senate, and no wave of any sort down-ballot? You'd be quite right to say that Trump will try like crazy to fling stuff at the wall -- and flinging stuff at the wall is one of the very few skills he has -- right up there with losing Daddy's money. His record on court attacks on the election thus far, to November 12, is something like zero for twelve. The guy really shoulda read the Constitution some time way back when.

  40. No, it won't. Most of the world is run by very competent people. America as a nation will lose power, authority and staus in the world, and Americans will suffer a substantial loss of wealth. And there will be four years of very unpleasant noise out of Washington. That's about it. America will get what its peoples deserve. I think well of Americans, and I hope and trust they deserve another four years of President Biden's careful, competent, bipartisan leadership.
