  3. The gays do this sort of thing on sixth Avenue in New York every now and then, parading past each other in columns, looking each other over, showing off their stuff. It's called vogueing. It takes a bit of thought to realize that there are some Naval battles, e.g. the Battle of the Nile, that are real bloodbaths. The Nile one was one of those several occasions when Napoleon abandoned a whole generation of French youngsters and had to go back home to wait for another bunch to grow up "like grass," as I think one of his marshals may have put it.

  5. When you say "We've already looked at thus-and-so..." (in this case pre-WWI destroyer development, you don't seem to realise that a lot of us come in here in the middle and have no idea where that earlier video is. I can't see it on my page here. It may turn up if I click through to your homepage, I don't know -- but in general, if you use a phrase like that you want to put the UR in the commentary, don't you think?

  7.  @ArcticTemper  US Admiral Kind was a major impetus for it; he served in commands in parallel with the British Navy at times in the twenties and thirties, so I'm sure he encouraged the development.
