  1. The gays do this sort of thing on sixth Avenue in New York every now and then, parading past each other in columns, looking each other over, showing off their stuff. It's called vogueing. It takes a bit of thought to realize that there are some Naval battles, e.g. the Battle of the Nile, that are real bloodbaths. The Nile one was one of those several occasions when Napoleon abandoned a whole generation of French youngsters and had to go back home to wait for another bunch to grow up "like grass," as I think one of his marshals may have put it.
