@lizj5740 I think I can do the math: they are claiming that the average guest uses thirteen bars of soap per night, right? Now that's not quite the same as forty per person -- unless everybody in the country spends three nights a year in a hotel room. So I guess we get an entry of 40 - 13 = 27 bars per person "discrepancies and unaccounted" in the flow of materials sheet? Someplace? I mean the accounting is not comprehensive if it doesn't have a "discrepancies" line, is it?

I think you may need to learn to be careful with offbeat ways some people express their own peculiar ways of looking at things. The bulk of the stuff at the ThunderboltsProject site is not exactly wrong. It's not exactly right, either. It just weaves in and out of contact with generally known ideas, not saying anything useful or new but not saying anything clearly either. On Einstein, you might want to rethink your notion that he was a fool. The three little dots at the right of your posts allow you to erase things that you may be embarrassed by.

John Pershing I think the stir-crazy has set in at your house. You were asking about Einstein and electricity and I pointed out to you that Einstein's "speed of light" is the speed of electric force moving through the Universe. The only division by zero here would be when the light came to your brain and tried to go around. As you correctly point out, the division wouldn't work. The electromagnetic signal would enter the void and go straight through. This happened before, with Mercury (that's a planet, John). Go look it up. Write it on the black-board a thousand times. Don't bother me with it anymore, OK. Good luck. Good-bye.

@Moletrouser Wow! Complicateder and complicateder! I had assumed that Bishop Strachan, pronounced Stawn, was English -- and that people who said "of that ilk" were Scots. It just shows to go ya that the best rule is to listen carefully, and when you have to -- ask! Cheers.

@colinmacdonald1869 An odd myth from my childhood, from one of my schoolteachers: it was said that Newton, Maxwell, Faraday, the poet-historian Macauley, and the novelist Trevelyan all lived close to each other, though in Newton's case a couple of centuries apart, on London's Macauley Road, near my house. Thomas Babbington Macauley's house, on the corner, is pretty plausible and has a plaque for say-so. The Newton attribution is all tied up in the mystery of a fancy, perhaps fanciful, house said to be owned by the Royal Society half-way down the street. The rest are all just maybe-maybenots
