  1. Most likely they will hit zero, not this silly negative infinity. There is some possibility of the Mob or somebody giving you credit, in which case you may hit a large negative total -- but not an infinite one. If these demonstrate a trend, then your teacher may claim a sloppy sort of correctness. I prefer statistics teachers who strive for correctness rather than for histrionic effects.

  2. Google up "Kelly Criterion" for the correct approach to this series of questions -- with the author of this video is too stpid, ignorant, or both, to deal with competently. On the single bet question it's purely a question of how you evaluate your own prospective feelings, imho, and has ver-ree little to do with mathematics. Playing the lottery, supposedly "the tax on stupidity," makes perfect sense if you value the happy feeling it gives you.
