  1. The supposed "gains from tax reform" have already been wiped out by the increases in the prices of steel and aluminum. The threat of tariffs was enough to let the manufacturers jack up their prices. That only makes it come early. Remember Ryan divided the cuts into two parts, the big ones for the rich which are permanent, and the small ones for everybody else, which only last through the 2020 election. Cynical, stupid -- and fortunately transparent.

  2. Vincent, Canada has theoretical high tariffs on dairy above its quotas. Canada's dairy quota system is similar to that of the US, and Canada imports more dairy from the States than the States does from anywhere and everywhere. This whole thing is typical Trump misdirection. The fact is every country has tried to protect "the family farm" for the past hundred years, and it's only worked a bit.
