  2. Karen, That's not true. The Laffer curve, aka the phenomenon of diminishing returns, is a truism. There are just two alarming things about it. First, Laffer himself cheated in his originalcocktail-napkin discussion, when he drew the curve but didn't discuss where America might have been on it at the time. Second, the entire American rightwing act a though it's some serious Big Deal. It's not. It's a triviality from Economics 101. They want to use it as an argument for lower taxes, which it is not unless you've demonstrated that some particular tax is on the upper half of the curve. This they never do. Buncha losers. Stoo-pid.
