  1.  @stevej1235  There's nothing ironic about it, it's perfectly natural. 汉字， Han characters or Han-zi in Chinese, is 汉字, Han characters or Kan-ji, in Japanese. The Han => Kan and zi=>ji evolution is the drift of the centuries multiplied by the difference in the background sonorities. Clearly, the use of that "汉" by the Japanese right from the beginning is giving honour where honour is due.

Aren't you just reporting what some stupid fat-boy-on-a-bed posted to the Internet, the usual sort of troll-trash? We're agreed that Chinese characters are originally Chinese, and there is no doubt that classically Chinese and Japanese traditions overlapped, with Japan being the younger brother. Nara is a copy of old Beijing (or Peiping. Whatever.) Beijing is not a copy of Nara.
