Since Earth rotates at the rate of 15 degrees per hour, a degree every four minutes, that "bright star" seen by the doomed dinosaur sky-watcher at 2:00 would not have been getting bigger but stationary. It would have been getting bigger but moving sideways a wee bit faster than the Moon moves today. 'Course 65 million years ago, Moon was closer in and therefore faster. Sadly we don't have any of those big ol' dinosaurs around to ask for the details.
