  1. Weird anachronism at 44;00: the Canadian flag in 1944, to the extent that there was any such thing, was the Blue Ensign. The current, and national, red maple leaf flag was invented thirty years or so larer by the Diefenbaker conservatives. The maple leaf, incidentally, is not particularly Canadian: the maple tree does not grow west of Lake Superior.
