The Wall Street Journal is an honorable olde newspaper and its news pages are pretty good down to this day. The problem is that the content here comes rather close to their editorial matter -- so the standards of their editorial page apply.

@Lindenrd25 Edmund, Biden was elected very very young from a state small enough for everybody to know everybody. That says people knew him since he was a kid, and know he's very bright and very trustworthy. He proved that true for eight years as Vice President, and he's proving it again now as a successful administrator under very trying pressures. His "it" is brains, decency, hard work, and honesty. Also lasting friendships and an occasional wicked, rather than nasty, wit. Your question ought to be, What's Trump's "it"?

He's bettter suited to be an insurance adjuster. He's in the right place: there's a ton of flooded property in Florida's future.

Not to worry: Florida's going to be under water pretty soon. Both the Panhandle's remaining residents will be up in Washington -- the last two Republicans in a Senate split between Democrats (Remember them? The free enterprise in a nation armed to the teeth Party of Hillary and Obama.) and Progressives. That's the Party the Republicans want to abort within fourteen years of its conception, and failing.

@bigchills7194 That would make Goldwater look like a moderate and an electoral success! A nice twofer. Goldwater was, like Meatball Ron, a highly intelligent man, so it wouldn't quite pull off a trifecta. Call it two and a half for Goldwater, much smarter than half the ticket. The fat half.

Donald Trump is following in a great American Socialist's footsteps. Donnie Fats, the 1916 Eugene Debs in 2024.
