  1. In 1962 the UAE had not been found because it hadn't been lost. It also hadn't been founded yet, because the founders had not yet come to the fore in the politics of their various states and kingdoms. OMG, but it's going to take real work to keep Indian English from flaking off into an argot incomprehensible to the rest of the world -- if not, indeed, to most of its Indian users.
