  1. There is nothing new about these ridiculous Japanese textbooks: the right wing of the old Liberal Democratic Party colonized Mombusho, the Ministry of Education, from 1945 to the present. The good news is the teachers are in continual uproar between their Communist and Socialist factions. (Imho the Communists are the comparative moderates, modernist to futurist, while the Socialists are olde line Marxists stuck somewhere around 1840.) This means the kids are at least exposed to the idea that their textbooks are horseshit.
