@scottsmith7051 Uh, Stalin maybe? Nazi Germany had death camps but no Siberian "labour" colonies other than pre-war Theresienstadt.

@trespire You're dreaming. Short-cuts are the very essence of business competition. Learning from what other people have done is a universal short-cut available to everybody.

@Don-mi6zl You know that "proves" means "tests" in this context, I trust? The exception may fail, improving the likelihood that the rule is correct.

TeaParty, You're being stupid: one of the great things about large experiments is that bystanders can learn from them as well. When Japan started building the wings of some Boeing aircraft back in the 1970's, the poor folks in the Washington factory were a wee bit surprised that the faces of the 700 Japanese engineers working there kept changing: Mitsubishi cycled a very high percentage of their entire engineering work force through the Boeing factories -- school, to Mitsubishi's mind -- in the course of the work. China will be doing the same right now at the Boeing assembly plants in China.

@johnstuartsmith Don't think so: the decision to re-engineer the 737 rather than build to the European competition's standards is a Board of Directors level, long-term direction-of-the-company, decision. No doubt they made a gutless decision based on short-term fiscal idiocy, but the mid-level folks just supplied the memos. It was the Board the fucked the duck.

This stupid propaganda channel can't understand what it is seeing: record levels of tourist travel! China had developed a middle class -- at last -- and they're celebrating. Every country in the world has a Chinese population, the descendants of migrants. Those migrants left China -- capitalist China.

Each needs. The essence of "each" is that it points to every *one*. It is everywhere and always singular. Its singularity is its essence.

This is economic illiteracy, a random salad of fact and misinformation. Sad stuff.

"Technology is key," says the script. Um, no. Experience is key. Technology is what we're working on, China has made amazing advances already, and given experience -- experience relevant to their own situation -- they will continue to advance. Ten years from now they might just go out and buy Boeing or Airbus. Perhaps they'll evolve into a third factor in the industry. But throwing up your hands and saying they're behind in technology right now, therefore they're failures, is stoo-pid, to use the technical term for such stupidity.

@musicjustforyoulnocopyrigh1016 Technology is knowledge. Knowledge either spreads or it dies. It doesn't stay in one place. Ever.

If Chiang Kai-Shek had not been a fascist thug, the Communists would never have had a chance.

1.) That wasn't any "investment." That was a government slush-fund subsidy. 2.) The smart-phone boom is over. OPPO have reached, in 2023, the point they needed to be in in 2005. 3.) They have produced an outdated bunch of chips at the people's expense. 4.) These clowns would look a whole lot better if they'd just stuck the money in their pocets and spent it on their mistresses. 41.) Buncha bumbass losers.
