@ElectricInevitability Your clue of the day: whenever anybody says "It's as simple as that" you know two things. The writer is not a very competent thinker and the thing asserted is almost certainly wrong. Britain joined a series of evolutionary organizations all the way back to the European Coal and Steel Community in 1952 with the clear understanding of everybody who thought about it one damn bit that it was going to evolve; it was going to evolve toward greater cooperation, and we wouldn't know how until we worked it through. Brexit is a temporary panic, passed by the barest of majorities of a tiny fraction of the electorate based on a campaign of lies and stupidity. In due course, England will come to its senses. The lesson is going to be expensive. It's probably the end of Britain -- and of course "Great" went out the window a couple of generations back. Have fun.

@britbazza2529 I think the UK is the one you get to kiss good-bye. Scotland and Ireland are on their way out, and the Welsh will surely come to their senses one of these days. England? Dependent on Donald Trump's good graces. Now there's a way of making a safe haven secure!

@rjkmusicmedia It seems to me the EU doesn't really exist yet. Having a currency without both fiscal and monetary authority behind it is just nonsense. This whole Brexit stupidity is Little Englanders running away from the chance and the responsibility to play a historical role in developing a United States of Europe.
