  1. Even a one-ton gold asteroid would stop the price of gold dead or worse: it would mean there's more out there so it's no permanent store of value. A mountain-sized chunk of nickel or tin dropped any place accessible, e.g. into the middle of the Australian outback, would crater the price of the stuff for a generation. Anyone with the billions needed to start pulling these stunts might, just might, get some return on their money. Given the price uncertainties involved, there aren't any sure and easy trillions here. Bloomberg should be ashamed of themselves, putting their name on this nonsense.
