  1. It's a constant: the policy of all Republican Administrations is making previous Republican Administrations look humane, intelligent, and decent. At least by comparison, this is generally true. Both Bush and Reagan, intellectual midgets, are giants by comparison with Trump. Both Bushes made Reagan look like a pacifist, and Reagan reminded us the Eisenhower had, with LBJ running his program on the Hill against GOP opposition, been a civil rights hero. They want us to look backward, and in this respect, they succeed.
