  1. I've got bad news for these folks. The Rapture already happened. August 13th, 1928, I think it was. Varying by time zone, height above sea level, and planet. That's why nobody has seen a real Christian in years: they've all gone to their reward. But big props to that tourist lady who asked that moron "pastor" "What's happening to Maryland during all this?"

  2. Justin, I hate it when you have to spell out a joke. Only the Christians got to go. Get it? Tough I can't make it all short for you. "Christians" is such a long word. Is there a one syllable word for "syllable"?

  4. Vitor Herold, I assume you're referring to 2 Thessalonians 2~4, or the many good organizing letters like it that Paul batted out during those organizing years. You take my mind back to 1966, when I used to exchange letters fairly often with the excellent Abbie Hoffman, of blessed memory. (We used snail-mail because our only WATS lines were for the Telexes.) I remember sitting in my office in Washington one night reading a good letter from him and thinking "Whew, this guy writes exactly like St. Paul." It's probably standard organizational style. You pick it up by osmosis as you memorize your parshah for your bar mitzvah.

  5. About two good cigars every five years. My maternal grandma said grandpa should smoke two cigars a year "to make the house smell right." I think that's a nice sentiment, uh, for the nineteenth century maybe. But a good cigar is a smoke, ya know...
