Mensa is not "a society for geniuses." It is, or was, a club of people with moderately high IQ's. They took in anybody who scored in the top two percentiles on any reasonably respectable "IQ" test, which means maybe 5~8% of the population, with a very fuzzy boundary. If you've ever been a member you'll have gained an appreciation for the variety of kinds of intelligence that exist. Donald Trump, for instance, is pretty easy to place: he's one of those kids with scores in the lower half, big loud guy so you put him on the comic book and fantasy committee 'cause he seems to enjoy that sort of stuff, and they elect him head for the same reason...
