  18. "Ruthlessly" is an entirely inappropriate term for Trump's rantingm implying, as it does, some measure of disciplline and legitimate authority behind his purely political and personal attacks. Such sloppy vocabularly comes with the new, somewhat rabid, Forbes, a regime which would have been unthinkable in Malcolm Forbes' lifetime.

Hawley is filth, revelling in the exaggerating a real but small evil with such glee. Some faction inside Forbes are making a mistake by building their careers on reporting him, and issues like his, as though they were were news.

  29. Poor Mike Lee doesn't understand what "sour grapes" means, getting it some sort of opposite of the Greek folk wisdom. "The grapes were sour" was what the fox said, to minimize the value of what it had lost, the treat of grapes. In this case the complainants lost something, an appointment eleven yearas ago, but 180 degrees opposite to Aesop's fox, they still value what they lost. Republican Senator Lee is not just a whiner: he's a stupid and pretentious whiner.

I wonder if Littlejohn's sentencing might be affected by the fact that the tax records he made public were the very tax records Trump had many times promised to make public himself? The woman is a ruthless and scattershot spreader of misinformation, a bizarro stew of stuff she just makes up, but believes in her own addled mind to be good for her paying clients. Some of it is amusingly precise projection onto others -- a normal act among Trumpoids: "We do it, so they must be doing it" must be engraved on the livers of everybody who takes a salary in Trump world. In a slightly more honest world she would be disbarred for this performance.

  37. It's difficult sometimes to know whether Trump is being dishonest or is just stupid -- or both. You'd think that knowing the difference between a market price and a tax assessed value was pretty elementary for a guy in real estate -- but then Trump hasn't built anything since his father's death, so perhaps he never was in real estate, just signing his allowance cheques.

When you hear a Republican whining about the "cost" of something, remember that he's whining about a lobbying job he didn't get -- but he and the lobbyist for that project, the cost of which he's complaining about, will be having a drink together before the week is out. They're on opposite sides on this particular project maybe, but they're both living off the same taxpayers' money. Free enterprise: companies spending our taxes to get our work done.

As she says, voter ID is only one of a universe of measures being used by all these lockstep legislators, in statehouses across the country, to make it more difficult for "the wrong people" to vote. And if you're honest with yourself, you'll admit that you knew this all along and that the accusation in your post above is false. Just cut it out, will ya? All this stuff was supposed to be settled in the time of LBJ.
