After the Reichstag Fire, and probably until the defeat at Stalingrad, he had the overwhelming support of the German people. Ho Chi Minh, like e.g. Charles De Gaulle, was the natural leader of Vietnamese resistance to the Japanese and the French, and the US supported him in that effort. He beat the French fair and square. John F. Kennedy, "JFK" 🤣, was solely responsible for the war against Vietnam and for America's humiliating defeat. The American people? Bought Joe Kennedy's liquor, paid for his child to buy the White House.

The 15-second recounting of the Fall of France misses the essential point, that the French right-wing stabbed the country in the back. Vichy France was just Mussolini without the spaghetti.
