@AlecMuller Alec, Geothermal runs up against the problem that rock is an awfully good insulator: once you've drained the heat from around your borehole, the rest of the heat is shielded away from you by the rock you just cooled off.

Your video doesn't mention the reason for both the expense and the unpopularity of flywheels: their danger. If a flywheel is to store any useful amount of energy, it's going to be moving at speeds which push the wheel itself close to its danger of disintegration. That's why you see all those exotic materials in your good video: the technological problem is not making a better rotor, it's making a safer housing in case the thing comes apart. A ton of anything moving at 100,000 cycles per second, if it could be made, would be as dangerous as a ton of fissioning uranium!

@ronnielloyd4676 The "improvement" is not in the rotors. It's that metal housings have been replaced with higher-tech carbon and suchlike: advanced technologies to contain a very dangerous piece of concentrated and unstable energy.

Jonathan, You're asking the maker of a YouTube video to actually look at it for errors and edit it after it's made. Wrong medium. Wrong century. Wrong ego-dump.

@colinspencer2205 The word you're looking for might be "magnetosphere." "Atmosphere" is from the Greek atmós “vapor, steam, odor.” Duh.
