  1. Dan, I'll take your word for it, but note that "the poison is in the dose." Aconite and its various flowery variations have been useful medicines for centuries. When you look over into veggies, you find that the ones that are "good for you," e.g. broccoli and rhubarb to take the two most extreme cases, are the ones that contain the most poisons. Potatoes were deadly poisons five hundred years ago -- and were massive sources of calories and Vitamin C sustaining huge populations Irish. Today we've bred the potato into harmlessness, and McDonald's have made it into one of America's most dangerous killers, a weapon of mass destruction to the nation's hearts and arteries.

  3. Ben, You're starting with a small fact and then going bananas with it. Your fact is that many unsupervised shared toilets are filthy. What you forget to add is that you can get by if you have the basic mother wit to carry toilet paper  (polite 卫生纸 is the word you'll use at the convenience store when you buy it;, regular 擦腚纸 or 厕纸 if you're talking about it as a topic; 草纸 straw or brown paper gives you lots of opportunity for humor...) with you, and be grateful that there's any damn toilet there at all. When you space out about getting your balls bitten by snakes you're working a dumb audience for crude humor. I.e. you've lost contact with actual reality, paper, turd and splatt. That's lock, stock, and barrel adapted to your situation. Cheers, -dlj.

  5. What is this "Exit A" thing all about? Don't you know the Asian Rule, capital A, capital R? My Station Only Has One Exit. I Use It Every Day. Got it? If you start keeping track of different exits this will make it difficult for you to get lost, and you will miss the whole point of Following Asian Instructions, OK? On the other hand, you may get where you're going. This will make you unusually competent.
