An exaggeration, with a little bit of truth in is somewhere perhaps. About what we might expect from a person who styles themself "@letsRegulateSociopaths." Who could imagine a person like that -- simple-minded and bossy -- might be a sociopath?

That $350 billion "a year" is the same few hundred million repeated over and over -- with the bookies taking a few percent of the large part that goes through their hands. If you divide it by 52 weekends, you'll come up with a one-digit number of billions which will be closer to the truth. Twenty million dopey dads betting a couple of hundred dollars several times a weekend will get you a more sensible idea of the silly story you are spinning, Wolfie.

Kotkin is fine as long as he sticks to Russia. Then every now and then he feels the need to turn into an infantile Trumpoid and make some silly, disjointed and unconnected, attack on President Biden or Democrats in general. This is truly weird behavior on his part, some sort of throw-back, perhaps, to when he may have felt the -- quite superfluous -- need to establish his reputation by making friends on the right. He has every right to feel secure in his reputation. There's no need for him to play the partisan half-wit, as he so often, so sadly, does.

Trump is the stupid and slightly pretentious mediocre person's idea of an intelligent person. What supplies the "evidence" that convinces these people of Trump's intelligence? There must be something. He is big. He is energetic, and ambitious. And he started out with hundreds of millions of dollars of his grandfather's and father's money. These give him the ability to impress, and in many ways. Sheer size contributes animal dominance, a Darwinian inheritance from our pre-human times. His energy give the often false impression of success. His ambition has forced him to learn a lot of clever tricks. And his inherited money has given him to ability to appear well-dressed, well-housed, and -- sometimes -- generous. This last has let him buy admiration, ersatz friendship, and pretended love. The net result? The very harmful arrival of monkey politics, of tree and pampas animal jockeying, in human society. Does it work? Is a $7.8 trillion dollar budget deficit a sign of four years' competent occupation of the Oval Office? No, it doesn't, because no, it isn't. He is a flamboyant failure, except as a successful dominant monkey, and he is a danger to our society. Multi-trillion dollar budget disasters are not the only disaster he can come up with. Large energetic animals can break all sorts of stuff they are allowed to come in contact with. That's why, at last, it looks as though he's going to be stopped. America's friends are beginning to look forward to a sigh of relief.

@TheLucanicLord I think the critique of Miller would be that to have valid opinions about the software business it would be a good idea to know what software is. And Dragous clearly knows what Third World means, which is why he is able to nail poor Miller on that point.
