In any event, they're going to be voting in Florida and the Carolinas whether Puerto Rico becomes a state or not. If you want to put your thinking cap on, take a look at the Articles under which Texas came into the Union: it has the right to split itself into four states -- and you can bet that it will do so as soon as the Democrats take over the government there. 20332 at the very ver-ree latest!

There is also the very large problem that both the major parties are out of touch with the realities of governing. Meanwhile, the minors -- the Greens, regionals like the Michigan Conservatives, the legal fiction of a third party used to such great effect by Nadir and Perot -- represent a variety of off-stage problems. The elephant in the room is that the Obama-Clinton Democratic Party stands for capitalism armed to the teeth. There is no viable politics to the right of that. McConnell, who brings personal wickednesses to his objective Trumpistry, and McCarthy, a pitiful little jackal, represent irresponsible force, a little power. They have no politics beyond the occasional favor they might do for a past friend or a future source of cash. There is, therefore, no legitimate reason for the continued existence of the GOP.

At $700 million a year, JFK's trivial Alliance for progress did nothing more than supply liquidity for Latin America's flow of dividends to the US. She was in a great deal of pain when the meds wore off but smiled her most angelic smile when she heard the voice of her youngest grand-daughter, Anai. The voice-acting of the "nurse" on the phone interpolating for the dying mother in this ad is totally true, "true to life," a true rendition of the skills of a profoundly humane and professional nurse, and has me in tears. And yes, Donald Trump is both a pitiful failure as a human being (and at a lot of other things, too) and a lousy President.
