The anti-Omar talk is overwhelmingly Fox, (quoting "Jewish spokesmen" of their own finding when they want to give some appearance of facticity to their yawp) and non-elected commentators. This whole thing is a propaganda effort by the Republicans with tiny numbers of "old school" Democrats blown way out of proportion.

  13. Raymond, Well said, but that's only half of it. It's also the US, or at least Trumpism, against the US. Protectionism is almost always harmful to the economy trying to perform it. There is a controversial case to be made for developmental protectionism, but it's weak. Japan didn't develop by protecting its industries but through a program of militarist industrialization from the 1860's onward, screwing steel out of the peasants' rice-bowls.
