  1. M Lau, There aren't any "ancient civilizations," at least on this planet. There is one on-going attempt at creating one, and we're it. All those old buildings, in Peru, or Egypt, or New Mexico, or...? All of them built by cousins so close to us that our DNA matches almost all the way along.

  2. "Information can't travel faster than light" is a very funny thing to claim. Speed is distance divided by time and information doesn't travel over distance: when it's over there it hasn't necessarily stopped being here, so how has it travelled? Even worse, unlike matter, information doesn't necessarily travel through time. Matter can be neither created nor destoyed except through conversion into energy, while information can do both. Lastly, "cannot travel faster than light" is not a falsifiable claim in the Karl Popper sense, so it can't claim to be making sense. It's just a YouTube mumble.

  7. Gary, I don't think that story works. Most likely any lonely isolated people on your Canary Islands would at least have had tales, songs, or an Official Religion all about how they got there. And they sure as hell got there by boat, or log, big chunk of seaweed in the not too distant past -- though admittedly before anything called "Spain" existed.
