  1. M Lau, There aren't any "ancient civilizations," at least on this planet. There is one on-going attempt at creating one, and we're it. All those old buildings, in Peru, or Egypt, or New Mexico, or...? All of them built by cousins so close to us that our DNA matches almost all the way along.

  3. Gary, I don't think that story works. Most likely any lonely isolated people on your Canary Islands would at least have had tales, songs, or an Official Religion all about how they got there. And they sure as hell got there by boat, or log, big chunk of seaweed in the not too distant past -- though admittedly before anything called "Spain" existed.
