Incorrect title: there is no paradox here. It's a straightforward, though rather careless, telling of the slightly odd collection of notions we chunk together as "infinity."

Anipix, My impression is the flat Earthers are making a rather similar point, that a whole lot of claimed knowledge is really hooey. If you think they think the Earth is flat, maybe you're looking in the wrong place to find gullibility.

"1312 Revolutionary 1 month ago The US military used Haitians for target practice" Very highly unlikely to be true -- but the sort of prose you deal in, aren't you ashamed of forgetting all the pregnant women bayonetted in the belly?

Vasting The US average per capita is about fourth in the world, in cash terms as of March 2018, and headed downward. Many peoples and countries live longer, healthier, safer and happier than Americans. Middle-class Canadians have higher money incomes than middle-class Americans. Trump's vaunted Dow-Jones jumped when he was elected, but it has gone sideways expressed in any trade-weighted basket of currencies since he took office. Since his policies started to take effect, roughly January 2018, the DJ has dropped in points, in dollars, and in world currencies.

Don't think so, Luther. It helps to give you a framework within which to observe empirically that Scientology is a cult.

OK, Zoey, anybody who follows the rule "Never apologize." But to be honest, I think you have to concede that Donald Trump is the most conspicuous and most dangerous example of strutting, boasting, prideful, and unaware ignorance around us today. There's nothing "libtard" about that. It's just a simple observation. It is quite specifically an example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect, so very relevant here.

111 222 'Bout 550,000 killed. Maybe 10,000 of them Communists.

Lito, It also shows that he is a really brilliant con man, a sophist for the centuries.

Same in English: prophylactic.

beastonthehunt Sorry, friend: yes, it does. In fact that's the most common meaning.

Save yourself four minutes. The guy says, correctly, that gold comes from supernovae. So does everything else on Earth, so Duh.

jokitalinda10 At the beginning of the Reagan Administration, every country in Latin America had a fascist, military, or authoritarian government. Eight years later they were all gone but one, Cuba. The value of having a Secretary of State, the excellent George P. Schultz, to stand up to his President and tell him to his face what was right and what was wrong! The value of having a President, Ronald Reagan, with the knowledge of his self-worth that would make him bring such people along with him, allow them the rein they were worth!

SPK1121, Quite. Two accurate and excellent points. Dunning-Kruger is just a faculty club joke that got out into the wild, a sour example of soi disant elites laughing at the humble. We are all, at some level and constantly, unaware of what we are unaware of. It's just Rumsfeld's Fortune Cookie reworded as a superior sneer.

This commentator is bad at arithmetic: he says that a cat half alive and half dead is in two states at once. I'm sorry: on Planet Earth 0.5 + 0.5 = 1.0 The cat is in exacty one state, the quantum state of being half alive and half dead. You can argue all you want about what a "quantum state" might be, but no amount of philosophical jiggery pokery will make two halves add up to two.

Traits: rhymes with plays, not with plates.

"America is the richest country in the history of Earth. Individual "American states are bigger and more powerful than many whole countries." The United States won the Civil War. Name one other one. The Colonists won independence because the Whigs, who supported them, were elected to govenment in England.
