All viewers would do themselves a big favour and read the Guardian 24 March, and the Channel 4 interviews regarding the whistleblower about the leave campaign, and Banks involvement in subverting the referendum. He is simply trying to bribe the electorate , for his personal gain.   2. Ghost Dog That's what you say !! I say the electorate were hoodwinked and the truth is steadily coming out. Any sane person can see today that "leave" has multiple meanings, all of which are detrimental to our future. We need a new honest referendum and then a full public enquiry into this fiasco.

  3. John Stanley. Democracy in the UK was badly damaged by the leave campaign , period. WW2 was a long time ago and a generation went by where we traded as part of EFTA. We were bankrupt in the 70's when we joined the EEC and today we are supposed to be the 5th richest country in the world. Our elected representatives took us into the EU and we have benefited from it both economically and socially. The EU is no more than an Alliance within which we can trade throughout the world, and counter the trading practices of the US and China. Don't talk about anger, when I see my future, and that of my family threatened , by some sick perversion of democracy , when the referendum was illegally funded and bankrolled by the likes of banks and mercer.

  4. Jack Archer Where is the proof that he wasn't financed by the Russians ?? The guy is a crook and lies are his stock in trade. It's obvious to anyone thinking for themselves that Putins aim is to weaken democracy in the western world....and he's doing a damn good job. Banks should be checking his door handles as the GRU try to cover their tracks.

  5. Jack Archer You need to read the Guardian 24 March. What exactly were the electorate promised by the leave campaign ? The answer to that question is clear by the absolute chaos reigning since your "win". What exactly is your vision of this country outside of Europe ? The leave campaign broke the law with respect to funding, the fines imposed being pitifully small for the damage caused to our economy. The immediate consequence of the referendum was a devaluation of the pound and our credit rating falling from Aa1 to Aa2.... This costs the country £5 BILLION extra in debt interest alone, forecast to the mid 2020's. That comes to £45 Billion alone. Explain why 40% of leave campaign funds went to a small office in British Columbia , in reality a department within Cambridge Analytica. Data harvested from Facebook enabled careful targeting to reinforce people's fears and prejudices, to swing the referendum in favour of leave. Banks has his dirty fingers in all of these pies. Clearly at the moment there is no absolute proof to Russian funding....yet...but his business dealings in Africa which are ludicrous, and his lies about his visits to Russia, strongly suggest their involvement. No , democracy was weakened, and is being weakened by banks. You are afraid of an honest referendum, and the possibility of a remain outcome. I want an honest referendum because without one there will be economic and social turmoil and damaged to this Nation for at least a generation. Putin has malign intent to this country and banks is a willing tool for personal gain, and unlike you, I do give a damn.

Leave.eu (Farage and Banks ) and Vote Leave were in cahoots with Cambridge Analytica and Robert Mercer and the subversion of the referendum. 40% of leave campaign funds went to British Columbia and a department within Cambridge Analytica. Why ?? We need a Public Enquiry.

That is what everyone is asking themselves and to do this we listen to the information presented to us, weigh up its accuracy, and decide. We clearly formed opposing views , and apart from minor "digs, I have tried to avoid throwing insults, labels such as "traiytorr", and foul language except in the case of F...Business Johnson, on the grounds that if its good enough for him, it's good enough for me. This exchange of views is in response to this report about Banks, throwing money about to deselect MPs. When the seriously wealthy are throwing their money about like this I immediately question their motives. Farage, Rees-Mogg, Johnson, and their backers like hedge fund billionaire Robert Mercer, funded of Cambridge Analytica these people are seriously rich compared to most people. They are not registered charities and I think they have highjacked people's patriotism , with promises of a golden future....we all want that....for selfish gain. The benefits of the EU alliance are harder to wrap up in neat slogans, but I think "pulling up the drawbridge " is a backward step. I've only actively engaged in this debate quite recently, as more and more information about the leave campaigns underhand and illegal activities has come to light, and I think it's fundamentally wrong.
