We can reuse plastics and other materials derived from crude oil so if we ran out it wouldnt be so bad, it's the fuel sector that uses oil wrongly . Combustion of gasoline is irreversible, unlike making a plastic spoon.

  12.  @ElTelBaby  A fossil fuel, petroleum is formed when large quantities of dead organisms, mostly zooplankton and algae, are buried underneath sedimentary rock and subjected to both intense heat and pressure The only minerals in crude oil would be leached from the rock. Kinda like if u leave a water bottle in the sun you get dissolved plastics in your water.
