But wait, what about some of the mobs we see right now? It seems like social justice and equality are pretty great things to fight for, what would someone possibly gain from promoting a good cause? I would think the government and other elites would want less equality, not more.

I'm curious, who would be gaining anything from the Hong Kong situation? I'd imagine a state free from Chinese influence would be an overall good thing for the people, wouldn't it?

Although the tyranny of the majority is a very real thing, I think it's better overall than one person having power over everything, they could do basically whatever they want, whether it be good or bad

@michaelh13 That makes sense, but think about it end from an end-goal perspective, which is police reform and greater social equality, who would benefit from that other than the people in the community?

@michaelh13 Yeah, but I think companies are subscribing to the peaceful protestors who are fighting for social justice, rather than the small group of people who actually commit acts of violence. Although a lot of people probably got a lot of free stuff, do you think there's someone out there who's inciting violence and a beneficiary to the destruction? Like a figure or organization from behind the shadows?

Yeah you're right, the people who mocked him for speaking at a 4th grade reading level were pretty dumbfounded, it's easier for the majority of people to understand what he's saying since it's more simple

@michaelh13 Yeah that definitely makes sense, was just wondering, as Jake says in the video, whether there was someone inciting this violence in order to gain something from it.

@michaelh13 That's a very good point, although the police may actually get less funding as it seems. I could also think of war profiteers profiting off of chaos and riot gear, criminal syndicates who would be able to get away with more due to a ill-equipped and weakened police force, and maybe Cannabis companies who can push federal legalization, as we saw in the testifications at the House today

Yeah, a lot of people have speculated someone would be orchestrating for personal benefit, but I haven't seen anyone yet, maybe from behind the curtain?
