The U.S. and its erstwhile allies, like Canada, have a clear choice: either sustain substantial financial and military support for Ukraine and more effective sanctions to forestall a Russian victory — as the valiant Ukrainians deserve — or face an ignominious defeat far greater than the Afghan debacle.
