30 bucks? What you SHOULD be asking Fowler is why they wont measure exhaust like any other state. Rejecting inspection over a check engine light forces poor folks into the arms of crooked mechanics. Is it cronyism or does it just keep the ticket revenue coming in? SOMEONE ought to report on THAT. Oh sure, you can avoid it if you take $250 worth of receipts over to your nearest state police pen. Right. Sure you can ride on over without getting another ticket or shot by one of those napoleon-complex riddled little fellas. Oh, you spent $250 in parts yourself, but the light's still on? Tough sh*t. Will not comply. I'll ride with whatever it took to get the car until they catch me. Then I'll pay the ticket and keep riding. Even if I don't have a check engine light, they still get none on principle. Think of all the poor folks getting raked over the coals to stay legal because some manufacturer turned on a light for whatever arbitrary reason. Mr. Sbrassia, do the needful.
