A tragic story of pain and suffering. Mankind likes to be the first to achieve things like this - the first to Climb Mount Everest the first to do the deepest underwater dive etc. This expedition at that time without the tools and means to do it now was never going to end well and pre survival will take away any humanity. Being hungry and in extreme pain with frost bite and starvation had to be worse than death.
